After the pandemic, we realized that change must happen. A qualitative change must happen because our community has been bleeding – figuratively and literally. The only way we knew how to make that change was to go back to our traditional and cultural ways.
We began by gathering small groups of women and conducted a cultural survey. We consulted as many people as we could. Over time, this effort reached a combined number of 100 women, all of whom had families. We asked these women key questions:
The answer was overwhelmingly yes.
After consulting and surveying these 100 women, we identified six critical areas to tackle to build connection, build communities, build capacity, and empower courageous women.
